Taking older works of art
and turning them into something different
can be a fun challenge.
You might remember the embroidered portrait
I completed a little while ago,
from the PRETTY PEARL series...
I have used the embroidered portrait panel in the centre of this new banner!
I framed in the face
using a vintage handmade doily from my mother's collection.
After sewing it around the perimeter,
I then cut out an opening in the centre
to expose the embroidered image.
I added two panels to either side of the middle image
with some handwritten french embroidered text.
~LES FLEURS SONT L'AMOUR~
flowers are love
The three banner panels are attached
using this black crochet lace trim I made some time ago.
It's nice when all your creative pieces finally come together
to make one united body of art!
