WIRE FLOWER SCULPTURES

Back by popular demand. I thought I'd post some photos of my lady's stockings. Actually, they are flowers that I make with nylon stockings, brand new ones straight from the package, not used ones, don't worry. I've been making these for years, I've got it down to a precise science now.

The tighter you stretch the nylon, the more delicate and transparent the petals.

In the eighties, I can't believe I am old enough to say that, they used to sell colourful nylons, from bright reds to pinks, even yellow if you can believe that! They made for some really pretty bouquets! These days, however, all I can find is nude, or black, but these shades end up being the best ones to use anyways. They have a modern feel, but they seem classic at the same time. Tres Elegante!

I did manage to find a pair of HOT PINK nylons at a thrift shop a while ago. They were never used, still neatly folded in their original packaging! That was a special treat! And in my crafty floral wire stock, I have a few packs of soft green coloured nylons that I purchased from a dollar store. I am saving those for leaves or something.

In these photos, I used ornate buttons for the stamin centers, but I've also used pearls, glass beads, and even yarn! The list of possiblities is endless. I've really got to get busy with my 'days' creation... enough talk for now. see you in a bit!
